Featuring a library and a restaurant, the 3-star smoke-free The Kings Head Hotel Ross-on-Wye is decorated with oak beams and offers proximity to St Mary the Virgin Church, which is only a 5-minute walk away. While staying right near Parkfields Gallery, guests can benefit from a sun deck, a shared lounge, and a library.

Location

The hotel is located in a prime touristic area of Ross-on-Wye, merely 1.2 km from the 12th - century Norman Wilton Castle. There is Church of St Lawrence around a 10-minute ride from the Kings Head Ross-on-Wye.

Guests might as well visit Thomas Blake Memorial Garden, which is 200 metres away. The nearby notable religious buildings include St Tysilio Church, about a 15-minute drive from this Ross-on-Wye hotel.

Edde Cross Street bus stop is also situated in the immediate vicinity of the accommodation.

Rooms

Offering a LCD TV, the 9 rooms come with ironing equipment to ensure a comfortable stay. They come with en-suite bathrooms. Nice touches include a power shower and a separate toilet, along with shower caps and bath sheets.

Eat & Drink

The Kings Head Hotel has an à la carte restaurant, serving a range of local dishes. Guests are welcome to a lounge bar on site. Avellino Italian Restaurant serves various kinds of Italian dishes just around the corner from the hotel.

Leisure & Business

The Kings Head also offers live performances. Other activities include hiking and fishing.

“The Kings Head intrigued me; its history goes back to the 14th century, with period architecture and an on-site microbrewery creating local ales, a Grade 2 listed hotel with unique character features. Its central Ross-on-Wye location makes it simple to explore Goodrich Castle, The Forest of Dean, or The Welsh Marches. An independently owned property with a cozy library, I think it's a perfect place to unwind.”

The Kings Head Hotel enjoys a superb location in the town center, making it easy to explore Ross-on-Wye. Guests frequently praise the excellent meals served in the restaurant and the tasty full English breakfast. The spacious superior double rooms, featuring comfortable beds with crisp white linen and contemporary bathrooms, are a highlight for many; however, a few guests have mentioned minor issues such as noisy macerator toilets in some rooms. Acceptable stay

friendly staff great meal tight entrance poor stair
The staff were friendly. They created a warm cute atmosphere. Breakfast was good. The restaurant provided a great meal one evening. I also enjoyed a great pint.
The car park entrance was very tight. Stair access to the rooms was poor. It could be considered dangerous particularly when carrying luggage. The room decor requires updating.
