Guests will also appreciate the vicinity to Thomas Blake Memorial Garden, located only a 5-minute stroll away. The nearby cultural experience includes Made in Ross, which is 0.6 km away.

Leisure & Business

The Kings Head Hotel features a sun deck, a shared lounge, and a library as well. Take part in diverse sports — hiking and fishing and others.

“The Kings Head intrigued me; its history goes back to the 14th century, with period architecture and an on-site microbrewery creating local ales, a Grade 2 listed hotel with unique character features. Its central Ross-on-Wye location makes it simple to explore Goodrich Castle, The Forest of Dean, or The Welsh Marches. An independently owned property with a cozy library, I think it's a perfect place to unwind.”

Acceptable stay

friendly staffgreat mealtight entrancepoor stair
The staff were friendly. They created a warm cute atmosphere. Breakfast was good. The restaurant provided a great meal one evening. I also enjoyed a great pint.
The car park entrance was very tight. Stair access to the rooms was poor. It could be considered dangerous particularly when carrying luggage. The room decor requires updating.

The room floor sloped noticeably. The head of the bed was lower than the foot. this caused a very poor night's sleep. the toilet included a macerator and it was noisy. the lack of level flooring and the loud toilet were disruptive.

Excellent Stay in a Classic Hotel

helpful staffair conditioningconvenient location
the staff was cute upon arrival. my room had air conditioning, very useful as the weather was warm. breakfast each morning included local produce cooked to order. i also enjoyed dinner in the restaurant one evening. i found the hotel's location to be very convenient.
the hotel showed its age, requiring a deeper cleaning, so some modernization would have been great
